ܟܠ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܝܠܝܕ ܘܟܠ ܕܡܚܒ ܠܝܠܘܕܐ ܡܚܒ ܐܦ ܠܗܘ ܕܐܬܝܠܕ ܡܢܗ
kl dmhymn dyshwe 'ythwhy mshykh' mn 'lh' ylyd wkl dmkhb lylwd' mkhb 'p lhw d'thyld mnh
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.

ܘܒܗܕܐ ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܡܚܒܝܢܢ ܠܒܢܘܗܝ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܡܐ ܕܠܐܠܗܐ ܡܚܒܝܢܢ ܘܥܒܕܝܢܢ ܦܘܩܕܢܘܗܝ
wbhd' ydeynn dmkhbynn lbnwhy d'lh' m' dl'lh' mkhbynn webdynn pwqdnwhy
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.

ܗܢܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܚܘܒܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܢܛܪ ܦܘܩܕܢܘܗܝ ܘܦܘܩܕܢܘܗܝ ܠܐ ܝܩܝܪܝܢ
hn' hw gyr khwbh d'lh' dnTr pwqdnwhy wpwqdnwhy l' yqyryn
For this is loving God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.

ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠ ܕܝܠܝܕ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܙܟܐ ܠܗ ܠܥܠܡܐ ܘܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܙܟܘܬܐ ܕܙܟܬܗ ܠܥܠܡܐ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܢ
mTl dkl dylyd mn 'lh' zk' lh lelm' whd' hy zkwth' dzkthh lelm' hymnwthn
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.

ܡܢܘ ܓܝܪ ܕܙܟܐ ܠܗ ܠܥܠܡܐ ܐܠܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܒܪܗ ܗܘ ܕܐܠܗܐ
mnw gyr dzk' lh lelm' 'l' hw dmhymn dyshwe brh hw d'lh'
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

ܗܢܘ ܕܐܬܐ ܒܝܕ ܡܝܐ ܘܕܡܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܡܝܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܠܐ ܒܡܝܐ ܘܕܡܐ
hnw d'th' byd my' wdm' yshwe mshykh' l' hw' bmy' blkhwd 'l' bmy' wdm'
This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

ܘܪܘܚܐ ܡܣܗܕܐ ܕܗܝ ܪܘܚܐ ܐܝܬܝܗ ܫܪܪܐ

For there are three who testify:

ܘܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܬܠܬܐ ܣܗܕܝܢ ܪܘܚܐ ܘܡܝܐ ܘܕܡܐ ܘܬܠܬܝܗܘܢ ܒܚܕ ܐܢܘܢ
w'ythyhwn thlth' shdyn rwkh' wmy' wdm' wthlthyhwn bkhd 'nwn
the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.

ܐܢ ܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܕܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܡܩܒܠܝܢܢ ܚܕ ܟܡܐ ܣܗܕܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܪܒܐ ܗܝ ܘܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܣܗܕܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܣܗܕ ܥܠ ܒܪܗ
'n shdwth' dbnynsh' mqblynn khd km' shdwthh d'lh' drb' hy whd' hy shdwthh d'lh' d'shd el brh
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is God’s testimony which he has testified concerning his Son.

ܟܠܡܢ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܒܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܗ ܗܕܐ ܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܒܢܦܫܗ ܟܠ ܕܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܥܒܕܗ ܒܕܠܐ ܗܝܡܢ ܠܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܕܐܣܗܕ ܐܠܗܐ ܥܠ ܒܪܗ
klmn dmhymn bbrh d'lh' 'yth lh hd' shdwth' bnpshh kl dl' mhymn l'lh' dgl' ebdh bdl' hymn lshdwth' d'shd 'lh' el brh
He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.

ܘܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܚܝܐ ܒܒܪܗ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ
whd' hy shdwth' dkhy' dlelm yhb ln 'lh' whnwn khy' bbrh 'ythyhwn
The testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

ܟܠ ܕܐܚܝܕ ܠܒܪܐ ܐܚܝܕ ܐܦ ܠܚܝܐ ܘܟܠ ܕܠܐ ܐܚܝܕ ܠܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܝܬ ܠܗ ܚܝܐ
kl d'khyd lbr' 'khyd 'p lkhy' wkl dl' 'khyd lbrh d'lh' lyth lh khy'
He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life.

ܗܠܝܢ ܟܬܒܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܐܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܗܝܡܢܬܘܢ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ
hlyn kthbth lkwn dthdewn dkhy' dlelm 'yth lkwn l'ylyn dhymnthwn bshmh dbrh d'lh'
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

ܘܗܕܐ ܦܪܗܣܝܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܢ ܠܘܬܗ ܕܟܠ ܕܫܐܠܝܢܢ ܠܗ ܐܝܟ ܨܒܝܢܗ ܫܡܥ ܠܢ
whd' prhsy' 'yth ln lwthh dkl dsh'lynn lh 'yk tsbynh shme ln
This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.

ܘܐܢ ܡܦܣܝܢܢ ܕܫܡܥ ܠܢ ܥܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܫܐܠܝܢܢ ܡܢܗ ܬܟܝܠܝܢܢ ܕܩܒܠܢ ܡܢ ܟܕܘ ܫܐܠܬܢ ܕܫܐܠܢ ܡܢܗ
w'n mpsynn dshme ln el mdm dsh'lynn mnh thkylynn dqbln mn kdw sh'lthn dsh'ln mnh
And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.

ܐܢ ܐܢܫ ܢܚܙܐ ܠܐܚܘܗܝ ܕܚܛܐ ܚܛܗܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܚܝܒ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܢܫܐܠ ܘܡܬܝܗܒܝܢ ܠܗ ܚܝܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܡܘܬܐ ܚܛܝܢ ܐܝܬ ܓܝܪ ܚܛܗܐ ܕܡܘܬܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܕܢܒܥܐ ܐܢܫ
'n 'nsh nkhz' l'khwhy dkhT' khTh' dl' mkhyb lmwth' nsh'l wmthyhbyn lh khy' l'ylyn dl' hw' 'yk dlmwth' khTyn 'yth gyr khTh' dmwth' l' hw' el hn' 'mr 'n' dnbe' 'nsh
If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death. I don’t say that he should make a request concerning this.

ܟܠ ܥܘܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܗܘ ܘܐܝܬ ܚܛܗܐ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܡܘܬܐ ܗܘ
kl ewl' gyr khTyth' hw w'yth khTh' dl' hw' dmwth' hw
All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.

ܘܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܟܠ ܕܝܠܝܕ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܚܛܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܕܝܠܝܕ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܢܛܪ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܒܝܫܐ ܠܐ ܡܬܩܪܒ ܠܗ
wydeynn dkl dylyd mn 'lh' l' khT' hw gyr dylyd mn 'lh' nTr npshh wbysh' l' mthqrb lh
We know that whoever is born of God doesn’t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn’t touch him.

ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܢܢ ܘܥܠܡܐ ܟܠܗ ܒܒܝܫܐ ܗܘ ܣܝܡ
ydeynn dmn 'lh' khnn welm' klh bbysh' hw sym
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

ܘܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܕܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܬܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܡܕܥܐ ܕܢܕܥ ܠܫܪܝܪܐ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܒܫܪܝܪܐ ܒܒܪܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܢܐ ܗܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܫܪܝܪܐ ܘܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ
wydeynn dbrh d'lh' 'th' wyhb ln mde' dnde lshryr' wnhw' bh bshryr' bbrh yshwe mshykh' hn' hw 'lh' shryr' wkhy' dlelm
We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

ܒܢܝ ܛܪܘ ܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܕܚܠܬ ܦܬܟܪܐ
bny Trw npshkwn mn dkhlth pthkr'
Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
